OFFICIAL RULES

 

  1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. The 2010 Recipes Plus Calendar Sweepstakes (the ÒContestÓ) is sponsored by Recipes Plus (the ÒSponsorÓ). The Contest begins on January 1, 2010 and ends on December 31, 2010 (the ÒContest PeriodÓ). Commencing January 1, 2010, approximately 1.6 million 2010 Recipes Plus© Calendars will be inserted in selected newspapers, the December issue of Canadian Living and Coup de Pouce magazine and participating A&P and SobeyÕs stores throughout Canada, while supplies last.
  2. HOW TO ENTER: From 12:01 AM (ET) on January 1, 2010 through 11:59 PM (ET) December 31, 2010, there are two (2) ways to enter the contest:

                         i.         Visit the Recipes Plus website at www.recipesplus.ca, click on the contest icon and complete the on-line entry form with your name, complete address, daytime telephone number and email address. Select the submit icon and your entry will be automatically entered. Only one (1) email address may be used by any person to participate in the contest. Limit one (1) on-line entry per month, per person or household address.

                          ii.         On a plain piece of paper hand-print your full name, complete address, daytime telephone number, email address (if applicable) and mail to: 2010 Recipes Plus Sweepstakes, Dept. 1123, P.O. Box 1275, Port Credit CSC, Mississauga, ON, L5G 4T4. Each mail-in entry must be mailed in a separate envelope, bearing sufficient postage. Limit one (1) mail-in entry per month, per person or household address.

  1. PRIZE PERIODS: There are twelve (12) Prize Periods during the Contest. During each Prize Period there will be one (1) draw, for a total of twelve (12) draws during the Contest Period. The qualifying Prize Periods for each of the twelve (12) draws are as follows: the first Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on January 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on January 31, 2010; the second Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on February 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on February 28, 2010; the third Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on March 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on March 31, 2010; the fourth Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on April 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on April 30, 2010; the fifth Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on May 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on May 31, 2010; the sixth Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on June 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on June 30, 2010; the seventh Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on July 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on July 31, 2010; the eighth Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on August 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on August 31, 2010; the ninth Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on September 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on September 30, 2010; the tenth Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on October 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on October 31, 2010; the eleventh Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on November 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on November 30, 2010; and the twelfth Prize Period will start at 12:01 AM (ET) on December 1, 2010 and end at 11:59 PM (ET) on December 31, 2010.

4.     PRIZES: At the start of the Contest, there will be a total of total of twelve (12) prizes available to be won. The number of prizes will diminish as they are awarded. One (1) prize will be awarded each Prize Period during the Contest.

For the first Prize Period, the prize will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Coffeemaker (model 43571) and one (1) Proctor Silex 2-slice toaster (model 22605) and one (1) Proctor Silex 1.7L cordless kettle (model K4070) and one (1) Proctor Silex Toaster Oven (model 31116C). Total approximate retail value is $116.96 CDN.

For the second Prize Period, the prize will consist of one (1) Proctor Deep Fryer (model 35015C) and one Proctor Silex Griddle (model 38513). Total approximate retail value is $99.98 CDN.

For the third Prize Period, the prize will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Food Chopper (model 72500R) and one (1) Proctor Silex Hand Mixer (model 62545) and one (1) Proctor Silex Stand Mixer (model 64697) and one (1) Coffee Grinder (model e160b). Total approximate retail value is $102.96 CDN.

For the fourth Prize Period, the prize package will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Rice Cooker (model 37534), one (1) Proctor Silex Sandwich Maker (model 25408C), and one (1) Proctor Silex Skillet (model 38520G) and one (1) Proctor Silex Slow Cooker (model 33142). Total approximate retail value is $104.96 CDN.

For the fifth Prize Period, the prize will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Coffeemaker (model 43571) and one (1) Proctor Silex 2-slice toaster (model 22605) and one (1) Proctor Silex 1.7L cordless kettle (model K4070) and one (1) Proctor Silex Toaster Oven (model 31116C). For the seventh Prize Period, the prize will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Food Chopper (model 72500R) and one (1) Proctor Silex Hand Mixer (model 62545) and one (1) Proctor Silex Stand Mixer (model 64697) and one (1) Coffee Grinder (model e160b). Total approximate retail value is $102.96 CDN

For the eighth Prize Period, the prize package will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Rice Cooker (model 37534), one (1) Proctor Silex Sandwich Maker (model 25408C), and one (1) Proctor Silex Skillet (model 38520G) and one (1) Proctor Silex Slow Cooker (model 33142). Total approximate retail value is $104.96 CDN.

For the eleventh Prize Period, the prize will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Food Chopper (model 72500R) and one (1) Proctor Silex Hand Mixer (model 62545) and one (1) Proctor Silex Stand Mixer (model 64697) and one (1) Coffee Grinder (model e160b). Total approximate retail value is $102.96 CDN.

For the twelfth Prize Period, the prize package will consist of one (1) Proctor Silex Rice Cooker (model 37534), one (1) Proctor Silex Sandwich Maker (model 25408C), and one (1) Proctor Silex Skillet (model 38520G) and one (1) Proctor Silex Slow Cooker (model 33142). Total approximate retail value is $104.96 CDN.

All prizes must be accepted as awarded without substitution and are not transferable or convertible to cash. The Sponsor reserves the right, in the event that a prize or any component of a prize cannot be awarded as described for any reason, to substitute another prize or component of equal or greater value, without liability. Limit of one (1) prize per household during the Contest Period.

  1. DRAWS: There will be twelve (12) random draws held by the independent contest organization in Mississauga, ON. The first draw will be held at 10:00 AM (ET) on February 5, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the first Prize Period. The second draw will be held on March 4, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the second Prize Period. The third draw will be held on April 2, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the third Prize Period. The fourth draw will be held on May 6, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the fourth Prize Period. The fifth draw will be held on June 3, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the fifth Prize Period. The sixth draw will be held on July 2, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the sixth Prize Period. The seventh draw will be held on August 5, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the seventh Prize Period. The eighth draw will be held on September 2, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the eighth Prize Period. The ninth draw will be held on October 2, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the ninth Prize Period. The tenth draw will be held on November 4, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the tenth Prize Period. The eleventh draw will be held on December 3, 2010 from amongst all eligible entries received during the eleventh Prize Period. The twelfth draw will be held on January 6, 2011 from amongst all eligible entries received during the twelfth Prize Period. The Sponsor reserves the right to reschedule any draw. The odds of being selected for a prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received during each Prize Period as specified in Rule #3 above. Each selected entrant will be contacted by courier, mail or telephone within ten (10) days of the draw date. If a selected entrant cannot be reached by courier, mail or telephone within ten (10) days of the draw date or if a package sent via courier or mail is returned as undeliverable, said selected entrant will be disqualified and another entrant will be randomly selected until such time as contact is made by courier, mail or telephone with a selected entrant or there are no more eligible entries, whichever comes first. The Sponsor will not be responsible for failed attempts to contact a selected entrant.
  2. AWARDING OF PRIZES: Before being declared a winner, each selected entrant must first correctly answer without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a mathematical skill-testing question posed via courier, mail or telephone. If a selected entrantÕs answer to the mathematical skill-testing question is incorrect he/she will be disqualified and another Entrant will be randomly selected until such time as there are twelve (12) confirmed winners or there are no more eligible entries, whichever comes first. Each selected entrant will also be required to sign a Declaration and Release Form (the ÒRelease FormÓ) confirming compliance with the Official Rules, acceptance of the prize as awarded, without substitution, and releasing the Sponsor, Hamilton Beach/Proctor Silex Inc., the independent contest organization, their respective advertising and promotional agencies, and their affiliated and related companies, respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with the prize or this contest. The Release Form must be returned within the time period specified on the Release Form or the prize may be forfeited. Prize will be delivered to the address on the Release Form within thirty (30) days of receipt of the fully and correctly completed Release Form.
  3. ELIGIBILITY: To enter and be eligible to win, a person must be a legal resident of Canada, who has reached the age of majority in the jurisdiction in which he/she resides and who is not an employee of the Sponsor, Hamilton Beach/Proctor Silex Inc., the independent contest organization, their respective advertising and promotional agencies, their affiliated and related companies, or a member of any such employeeÕs immediate family (regardless of where they live) or household (whether related to the employee or not). In these Rules, Òimmediate familyÓ means mother, father, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, or legal or common-law spouse.
  4. GENERAL: By entering the contest, entrants agree to abide by the Official Rules and the decisions of the independent contest organization with respect to all aspects of the contest, which are final.

9.     The Sponsor accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the contest or any prize. By entering, each winner consents to the use of his/her name, address (city and province) and/or photograph without further remuneration, in connection with any publicity carried out by or on behalf the Sponsor.

  1. The Sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, illegible, falsified, incomplete or destroyed entries and all such entries are void, and as well does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.
  2. The Sponsor, with the consent of the RŽgie des alcools, des courses et des jeux in the Province of Quebec, reserves the right to terminate or to amend this contest at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the online portion of the contest is not capable of running as originally planned, such as tampering or infection by computer virus, the Sponsor at its sole discretion with the consent of the RŽgie, reserves the right to cancel the online portion of the contest and conduct the drawing from all other previously received online and all mail in eligible entries received during that specific Prize Period. The Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the contest including but not limited, to any damage to an entrantÕs computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of the entrantÕs participation in this contest.

12.  All entries become the permanent property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. No correspondence will be entered into except with the selected entrants. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.

13.  Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the RŽgie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the RŽgie des alcools, des courses et des jeux only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.

14.  The Sponsor respects your right to privacy. The Sponsor will only use the personal information you provided to conduct the contest.
